Saint Francis Cathedral

This picture is of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi. but is well known as Saint Francis Cathedral.
This church was built in the late 1880s. The Cathedral is in Downtown Santa Fe and is set beautifully in the surrounding area by adobe buildings.
The church is very well maintained and very beautiful inside. I was able to spend several hours taking photos (No flash allowed). You can read more about this church here http://www.cbsfa.org

The picture was taken along route 66 during our trip to New Mexico. The car looks like it has been there some time and has had multiple people taken their shot at painting something on the car. Creating art, by many motorists passing by. Sure someone could start putting big X's or the hearts and names etc.. but no, it looks like people took their turns in this car in the desert.

Church Chimayo

Chimayó is located 40 miles south of Taos and 24 miles northeast of Santa Fe, about ten miles east of Espanola in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Believed to be built on sacred earth with miraculous healing powers.

Photo taken in Santa Fe, NM of horses out in the pasture of my friends home. Horses are a challenge as they do move and do not understand commands coming from a photographer. But to make it worse, this pasture covered an area of about 20 acres, so yes I too was tired!

Santa Fe. Loretto Chapel

Photos from our recent trip to Santa Fe, NM. These are of Loretto Chapel which has the Miraculous Staircase. This staircase has a mystery to it has it is said to be built without nails by a carpenter who showed up after the sisters of the chapel prayed for 9 days. It took several months to be built by this carpenter who then left without pay and could not be found. The sisters believe it was St. Joseph himself that built the staircase and answered their prayers.
